Njål Paulsberg The electronic music scene in Bergen has reared up many talents over the past 15 years, and 24 years old Njål Paul Berg - who are finding both Young Dreams and Put Your Hands Up for Neo-Tokyo - has proven to be particularly promising. His music is characterized by a willingness to mix genres and instruments that are not normally associated with each other, and melt them together in interesting harmonies and melodies. As a solo musician, he has released music on labels Powerblytt, Digitalo and Untz Untz, but also made music for short films organized by the Bergen Animation Mustering and Bergen International Festival. Their debut album Young Dreams, where he stands behind synthesizers and backing vocals, comes out this year at the renowned record label Modular. www.usf.no/no/program/2013/02/njaal-paulsberg-live-soundtrack-til-stumfilm/
Put Your Hands Up For Neo-Tokyo, aka Njål Paulsberg and Eirik Nordstrand, are two dudes from Bergen, Norway who make awfully interesting sounds that we’ll classify here as progressive electronic music. “The Blood of Brethren” works at a deliberately patient tempo. It’s conventionally melodic and kind of off-kilter all at once, to great effect. Layers emerge and blend together, and then fade away and return at various points — there’s nice guitar riffs, some effects that breeze in and out, and really neat keyboards and percussion, all mixing to create an oddly intoxicating stew. Even the vocal harmonies, while brief, are really well-done. Check out the somewhat more straightforward “Broken Horse” below as well. thewoundedjukebox.com/2012/07/10/put-your-hands-up-for-neo-tokyo-the-blood-of-brethren/
I heard Njål is not playing in the AURORA tour band for a while, since November 27, 2022, Sentrum Scene, Oslo. I don't know if it's just for a short while or not, I guess time will tell.
I think he toured with Aurora again as the main player for keys/synth at least since July 2021, Splendour XR Virtual Festival.

Besides touring with Aurora, he was involved in making the recent album Il Villaggio with Vetle Junker under the name Sound Stories (Instagram, SoundCloud). He is also in Evigheten who are recording their debut album according to their Instagram. A related thread here.
